Oh nevermind, everything is cool

Bobby, HappyI take it all back. Bobby has failed to storm out of the room at the AU summit, which must mean that he has changed and will begin sharing everything with Morgan. Snacks, drinks, power and sweet nothings. Story here.

"Mugabe didn't leave before the resolution was adopted. He said there is an ongoing dialogue with MDC as we were speaking," Egypt's foreign ministry spokesperson Hossam Zaki said...

Of course there is another way to look at this whole thing. That the AU didn't fucking censure Mugabe...
From the story here:

The resolution on Zimbabwe said that the AU was concerned with the situation and would encourage Mr Mugabe to initiate dialogue with Mr Tsvangirai "for the creation of a government of national unity". It said: "The AU remains convinced that the people of Zimbabwe will be able to resolve their differences and work together once again as one nation."

Bobby sicks. Thabo? Yes, him too.

Thabo Mbeki has really shown he is a pussy made of nothing nice and everything that owes to Bobby. Full story here. This is not the first time that we have spoken about Thabo's legacy, but this would seem to ensure that his legacy is one of shitty inaction. Hmm... Who does that remind you of?

Lesotho Updates

Phillips SA Light Bulb Factory
and the factory goes to.... Lesotho. It seems official that the factory will be built. AllAfirca story here.
More details from iafrica.

Weekly trade journal Engineering News reported that construction of the facility has already begun in Maseru and the first bulbs are expected to be released to South African and other African markets in September.

The plant was expected to create between 400 and 500 direct jobs and additional work in South Africa associated with the transport, shipping, packaging and components production.

SA Tourism Numbers True Lie
Apparently refugees from Lesotho looking for work are not tourists as they have no money... Details here.

"This is very unfortunate," said Koblmiller. "Every day we read reports that nearly nine million tourists are coming to South Africa every year, when, in fact, the numbers of true tourists from Europe, Asia and the Americas are declining."
