The date of the elections has been set (here). And the opposition is not happy about it (here) . I should certainly hope not.
"We had hoped elections would be held by at least May since there are still pending issues that need to be resolved," said Thomas Thabane.

In other news:
Apparently taking ARVs on and off is not going to help you. Good thing they studied that one and cleared up all the confusion. Here.

Radio Presenter Death Threats

Of course the guy gets an SMS... Can you imagine the mental process that concludes that your death threat is not worth a call, but only an SMS. Come on Lesotho, get your act together. Dutch Aid Worker Killing Update

Here is an update on the killing of the Dutch Aid Worker, Samuella Jacobina Verwey. The details still seem a bit sketchy as too whether the attack was directed solely towards Samuella or if the fact that it was the home of Trade Minister Mpho Malie. Because well you know things were/are a bit weird right now in Lesotho.

The attack on Malie's house came just hours after the head of state of Lesotho, King Letsie III, announced the dissolution of the country's sixth parliament to pave the way for general elections in February, three months earlier than scheduled. - Excerpt from the article here.

Lesotho Update

I realize this is a bit late but, here it is. Things are picking up politically in Lesotho. The Parliament has been dissolved, here (also a link to the press release on PCFM's website here.) You just know that there are quite a few people with their fingers crossed concerning how Lesotho is going to deal with the upcoming elections. Just yesterday there was an incident involving a Dutch aid worker staying at a minister's house, here. Keep an eye on the situation. Sadly enough one can only hope that things do not go poorly.
