Lesotho Election Update: Libya Ambassador kicked out.

Apparently Lesotho has kicked out the ambassador from Libya, perhaps for his relations with Tom Thabane of the All Basotho Convention Party, here. I wonder if the crazy Libyan man with the fifteen daughters is still there...

If you follow the link to the ABC party website you will be greeted by gems like this one:

He then became Communications Minister, where he was the Government Spokesperson, a role he has played prominently since the 1998 political crisis, when South Africa invaded Lesotho to quell political unrest.

Which is interesting only because they are actualy calling them like they see them. Invaded. oNe has to wonder what is going to happen during these elections. Will there be SADC troops surrounding the dams? Me thinks so. Here is a condemnation of the 1998 actions.

Nine South African soldiers were killed while suppressing the September 1998 army mutiny. More than 50 LDF soldiers and 40 civilians allied with the opposition died in fighting with SADC troops. A total of 52 LDF personnel have been arrested and court-martialed for mutiny and high treason in connection with these events.
This from a US State Department briefing highlights why resentment might still be lingering over 1998.

Update: Bhudaza has thrown his support to ABC. It's over folks. :)
