The President intends to nominate June Carter Perry, of the District of Columbia, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Sierra Leone. Ms. Perry, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, currently serves as Chief of Mission to the Kingdom of Lesotho. Prior to this, she served as Director of Social and Humanitarian Affairs at the Bureau of International Organization Affairs at the Department of State. Earlier in her career, she served as Diplomat-in-Residence at Howard University. Ms. Perry received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University, her master’s degree from the University of Chicago, and also attended the National Defense University.
